This is a high-quality, unframed print of my original painting, “Retrieval.” On the surface (no pun intended), it would appear that a hand is reaching for a single flower out of the depths. However, the hand is already wet, which shows there were others the hand was either attempting to retrieve or had already retrieved. What is the importance of the flower? Metaphorically speaking, the flower represents the beauty we attempt to collect - whether the beauty of many women, many things we collect because we find value in them, or many vices because they comfort us. The more important question being asked here is, why is “the one” never enough?
